Herewith me today is Damiete Jack, an Investor, and Customer Success Manager. In today’s interview on thesuccesselite.com, we will learn the story about how he got started in his career and built an investment portfolio of 5 figures. Welcome, Jack.
Tell us a bit more about yourself and what you do
My name is Damiete Jack. I am a Customer Success Manager at Bitrise, a self-taught Investor, fitness enthusiast, and part-time blogger. I am Nigerian but have lived almost half my life in Hungary.
I am happily married with a beautiful daughter. In my work role, I help clients achieve their business goals using our platform. Parallel to that, I am an investor, chasing financial freedom and spreading the word on financial education.
What’s the story behind how you started?
I started my career as a junior sales executive at a conference company despite having an engineering degree. After struggling at the start, making little money monthly but I knew this was my calling.
I finally had my Aha moment and things finally started coming together. I started bringing in big deals and moved up the ranks to become a manager. In regards to investing.
I started with 100 euros which I partnered with a friend to trade in the forex market because I was afraid to do it myself. As time went on, we did well for a while but because I didn’t why we were doing well, once things were not so good, I was panicking.
We cut ties, and I ventured on my own starting my own portfolio with 200 dollars, adding money monthly, which forced me to learn as it was all on me now. As of today, I have built it into an almost 5 figure portfolio in 13 months.
Why is important to start investing now?
It is important to start investing because the one thing that no one can get back is time. When you start at a younger age, you build the habit. We are so used to working for money, with investing you have your money working for you. it changes the relationship you have with money.
Did you always know this was what you wanted to do?
The simple answer is No. Like many people, I was afraid and confused about how to get started. What made it more difficult is not having anyone that could mentor you in person.
What challenges did you encounter along the way, and how did you overcome them?
I have faced many but the first one is facing the inner doubt you have. this is the biggest challenge I think that anyone can relate to. Once you get past that, finding the right information that you can apply here and finding mentorship can be a big challenge especially when starting cos in general money/investment is not a common topic we speak about.
Even when you see good information online it’s for the US market which may not apply here, this can be very deflating.
Are there any podcasts, books, resources that helped you in your journey as an investor?
Rich Dad, Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki
Be obsessed or be average by Grant Cardone
Money Master the game by Tony Robbins
YouTube – has been my most powerful resource.
What lessons did you learn in your journey as an investor?
I have learned so many lessons along the way but two stands out the most.
1. It’s okay to fail, don’t be afraid to fail, to be honest, you most likely will fail and that’s okay too, but you fail better each time.
2. Don’t tell your big dreams to small-minded people, they will shoot it down very fast if you don’t have strong willpower.

Are there people you helped get started in investing?
I have helped people get started with investing, sort of like a mentor and that keeps me accountable. Also I have been opportuned to help close friends/family build well diversified portfolios.
How do you walk them through the process?
Working them through the process is quite straight forward. I realised that there is no one size fits all strategy.
I teach the basics then more important understanding their risk appetite and what kind of approach they want to use and then build around that.
Why was it important to share your story with the world?
Success, as they say, is relative, we might be considered successful but to others we are insignificant. I think it is important I share my story with other Africans living in Europe that you can create multiple streams of income, build wealth, and live on your own terms.
The more people are aware of this then we can build a community/network and push each other along. I am excited because I am just getting started.
What project have you started to help more people interested in investment?
I started a Facebook page called Bizzle’s journey to encourage people to get started and document my own journey sort of like a journal. What is next for me right now, is I am transitioning into stock trading at the moment. Another leap for me, I am excited and scared. We will see.
Where can people connect, and learn more about you?
You can connect with me on Facebook Damiete Bizzle Jack or my Facebook page Bizzle’s Journey.
