3 Easy Steps to Get Back Your Self-Confidence

3 Easy Steps to Get Back Your Self-Confidence

Sometimes life hits your self-confidence really hard. The circumstances you find yourself in may be challenging and overwhelm you. Sometimes your courage and self-confidence pull through. Sometimes your confidence takes a beat and becomes low.

The one thing to always remember is that “Nobody can hurt you without your consent.” The situation isn’t as critical because of its impact on you, rather the impact that you let the matter have on you. In life, pain is inevitable, but suffering is optional because the saying goes. It’s purely your choice, and whether you select to recover or suffer is entirely your prerogative.

There are many reasons why your self-confidence gets hurt.  You were bullied in your childhood, and it left a mark on your confidence. Maybe your parents or schoolmates belittled you and constantly compared you to others. Perhaps you’ve been on the receiving end of racial discrimination. As a result, you have internalized some negative messages about your capabilities, wondering whether you “belong.”

These experiences can hurt your self-confidence. But you do not necessarily need to suffer because of them. You can rise and get back your self-confidence.

The following easy steps will you do exactly that.

#1 Look on the brighter side

There are two sides to every coin. It could be that you are experiencing one side of the coin that is hurting your confidence, but the other could be an opportunity for you. If you’ve been laid off from your job, it’s okay to feel bad about it. Losing employment may be a terrible thing, but it doesn’t mean the top of the planet. Who knows, it’d be a blessing in disguise.

Maybe you’ve got a while to review your life, get conscious of where you’re going, have a glance at your likes and hobbies, which you’ll not develop due to the pressures of your job.

Maybe this is often a chance to start afresh and live your life in a replacement way that is more in sync with your abilities and aptitude. Similarly, a divorce may cause great pain; on the other hand, you were not too happy in your marriage either.

It probably was just not meant to be. Now you’ve got an opportunity to rebuild your life the way you would like it to be.

#2 Stop comparing yourself to everyone else

When we have a problem, we always question God – “Oh, God, why me?” Certainly, God gave you tons of rewards also, right? Did you then rise and ask God -“Oh God, why me?”This is what attribute is all about.

We complain and remember God once we are in trouble; alternatively, we are too busy with ourselves. Stop watching people who seem too happy and cozy to you from a distance. Stop comparing their comfort with your suffering. This may only frustrate you more and cause you to be unhappy.

Focus on yourself and make every effort you’ll take time out to do something to cheer you up whenever you’re feeling down. Self-pity is extremely addictive and capable of destroying lives. Rather than indulging in self-pity (though we all do from time to time), take hold of your life, take responsibility for your actions, learn from your mistakes, and make a clean slate. And yeah…don’t get caught up when

you hear a “NO.”

“NO” is something even the greats like Edison and Ford faced. If you look at it positively, you’ll find that out that every “NO” actually takes you closer to a “YES.” It has been reported that Edison conducted a thousand failed experiments before he made an electrical bulb!

So get going and take the occasional no without becoming upset.

Don’t stand in your own way

You will notice that shadows are caused once we substitute the trail of sunshine. In our lives, too, we cause tons of shadows by standing in the way of our own happiness.

In today’s world, it’s important to be flexible. Many individuals will search for employment for months yet still reject work coming their way because they’re not willing to adapt to some new job requirements. Marie, a schoolteacher, was laid off from her job.

She kept trying for months to urge employment as an educator while rejecting opportunities like taking private tuitions, being a nanny, doing copy-editing work as a freelancer.

The long wait hurt her self-confidence even more.

Sometimes, it’s good to be a touch flexible and adapt ourselves to new job demands instead of looking exactly for what we lost. It helps to regain confidence quickly, bringing enough energy to urge a good, better job within the field of your choice!
