These 7 books on creativity can help you tap into your most generative side of your thinking. Get a new perspective on the world, learn how leading entrepreneurs got to the aha moment which happened to light their lightbulbs and get to know how the most unconventional minds tackle a complex problem.

1. Powers of Two – Joshua Wolf Shenk

The myth of the lone genius is a tantalizing one, but more often than not, it’s little more than that. In fact, behind every creative type, there is often a creative partner. Author Joshua Wolf Shenk’s Powers of Two explores the idea of the creative pair, examines the relationship between seemingly fluffy thing called creativity and the brain, and draws heavily on examples of celebrated creative duos, such as The Beatles’ John Lennon and Paul McCartney, Apple’s two Steves, and South Park’s Trey Parker and Matt Stone.

2.The Creator’s Code – Amy Wilkinson

The Creator’s Code reveals the essential skills needed to take a big idea and turn it into a successful company. Drawn from 200 interviews with dozens of leading entrepreneurs, including the founders of LinkedIn, eBay, Tesla Motors, Airbnb, PayPal, JetBlue and others, this book will help you better see what areas you need to address to turn your passion into tomorrow’s market leader. Author Amy Wilkinson is a strategic adviser, entrepreneur, and lecturer at the Stanford Graduate School of Business. She has worked at consultancy McKinsey & Company and investment company J.P. Morgan and has served as a White House fellow and special assistant to the U.S. Trade Representative.

3. Originals – Adam Grant

Tap into the field of original thinking and where great ideas come from with Adam Grant, consultant to Google, Goldman’s, and Disney Pixar. By following unconventional rules, Grant offers helpful guidelines as to how to foster originality in every facet of life. This book focuses on how anyone can boost their creativity and gives foolproof methods for identifying truly original ideas – and following through with them.

4. 59 Seconds – Richard Wiseman

You don’t have to spend tens of years or thousands of dollars to fix most problems. Thanks to huge advances in psychological research and technology, we’re now able to solve whatever problem we’re dealt in exceedingly simple ways. 59 seconds lays out some handy tips and insights for doing just that, backed by scientific research. Apply them to get a little more creative, a little bit of new perspective, and a little bit closer to your Eureka! Moment. It’s also a fun read—Wiseman’s been described by one of Scientific American’s columnists as “the most interesting and innovative experimental psychologist in the world today.”

5.The Myths of Creativity – David Burkus

The Myths of Creativity debunks common misconceptions of how creativity works. It provides practical insight and valuable advice on how to generate new ideas and let them flourish, and it gives real-world examples from history and recent well-known creatives. Its author, David Burkus, is a professor of management specializing in the fields of creativity and innovation, as well as in entrepreneurship and organizational behavior. He has written for Fast Company and Bloomberg Businessweek and given keynotes for Microsoft and Stryker.

6.Where Good Ideas Come From – Steven Johnson

Where Good Ideas Come From examines and explains what kinds of environments have historically fostered innovation, from the evolution of life on Earth through the history of science. The book highlights many parallels between the two, ranging from carbon atoms forming the very first building blocks of life to cities and the internet, with all its wacky enclaves, opportunities for collaboration, and attendant discoveries. The book is bursting with anecdotes and scientific fact, but Johnson—contributor to The Wall Street Journal, The NYT, and The Financial Times—doesn’t leave out how individual and organizational creativity can be cultivated.

7. Making Ideas Happen – Scott Belsky

The obstacles that lie between your ideas and their implementation can seem enormous, but this book’s here to help. It offers insight into the ways in which successful individuals and creative departments overcome these obstacles, furnishing real-life examples from some of the world’s leading brands and creative minds. Scott Belsky is vice president of community at Adobe, as well as founder and CEO of the product development platform Behance. He’s consulted for Fortune 500 companies and new media giants, and guest lectured at Cornell University, Harvard University and UC Berkeley. Fast Company’s “100 Most Creative People in Business” list included Scott in 2010.

Reading books, articles that are a source of inspiration for creativity boosts breakthrough in that area.

Top 30 Alex Morgan Quotes To Reach For The Top

Confidence attracts greatness, do you believe that? If you do not, here is what I believe is the reason, doubt. It is a sneaky monster that crawls into your thoughts, making you lose faith in yourself, your ideas, your potential, and your abilities. This monster has led many people today to live less than their potential. They let doubt fill their thoughts, feeding off of them like a leach. I struggled with an internal enemy called doubt. This led to self-doubt ruling over me, I always thought only a few people could have such confidence that radiates around them. Some of my schoolmates in high school were awesome in just about anything they did. I thought they were born different with something that made them glow amidst their mates. I discovered that no successful person on their first day in the world said hey everybody; "I am born with confidence". No, they learned to be confident. You can learn to be super confident too. If like me, you thought confidence was only for a certain group of people to have, stop right now, and let go of that thought. Confidence isn't only for a few, it's for everyone. It is a luxurious brand that anyone no matter their status, background, or region can have. Confidence is the new cool. Nothing great has ever been achieved without confidence and belief in one's self. Have you ever noticed how a simple word can make you feel energized to accomplish just about anything? Simple words like quotes are powerful and capable of changing one's perception, and life, and help gain confidence. Reading a good set of quotes can teach you something that others have learned in a lifetime. I believe quotes can help remind you of how incredibly awesome you are and help you believe in yourself. I have gathered some quotes to remind you of how awesome you are. Confidence quotes to help you believe in yourself What could we accomplish if we knew we could not fail?– Eleanor Roosevelt Always be yourself and have faith in yourself. Do not go out and look for a successful personality and try to duplicate it.Bruce Lee It is confidence in our bodies, minds, and spirits that allows us to keep looking for new adventures  Oprah Winfrey If you hear a voice within you say ‘you cannot paint,’ then by all means paint, and that voice will be silenced.–Vincent Van Gogh Love yourself first and everything else falls into line. You really have to love yourself to get anything done in this world.– Lucille Ball Trust yourself. Create the kind of self that you will be happy to live with all your life. Make the most of yourself by fanning the tiny, inner sparks of possibility into flames of achievement.— Golda Meir With the realization of one’s own potential and self-confidence in one’s ability, one can build a better world.– Dalai Lama 15 John Lennon Quotes On Love, Life, And Peace Just believe in yourself. Even if you don’t, pretend that you do and, at some point, you will.– Venus Williams Confidence comes not from always being right but from not fearing to be wrong.— Peter T. Mcintyre A man cannot be comfortable without his own approval.— Mark Twain Confidence is when you believe in yourself and your abilities, arrogance is when you think you are better than others and act accordingly.— Stewart Stafford We ask ourselves, ‘Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?’ Actually, who are you not to be?— Marianne Williamson Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others. - Marianne Williamson You are the only person on earth who can use your ability. - Zig Ziglar With realization of one's own potential and self-confidence in one's ability, one can build a better world. - Dalai Lama We have to learn to be our own best friends because we fall too easily into the trap of being our own worst enemies. - Roderick Thorp Whether you think you can or think you can't, you are right. Henry Ford You have to expect things of yourself before you can do them. - Michael Jordan To anyone that ever told you you’re no good … They’re no better.— Hayley Williams As soon as you trust yourself, you will know how to live.— Johann Wolfgang von Goethe Argue for your limitations and, sure enough, they’re yours.— Richard Bach If you are insecure, guess what? The rest of the world is, too. Do not overestimate the competition and underestimate yourself. You are better than you think.— T. Harv Eker We have to learn to be our own best friends because we fall too easily into the trap of being our own worst enemies.— Roderick Thorp Read more quotes like these: 26 Quotes About Laughter and Its Incredible Power 26 Quotes About Laughter and Its Incredible Power 25 Jack Ma Quotes to Motivate and Enrich Your Life
